Many of you have been asking about my work at Majesco Studios Santa Monica. I have unfortunate news on that front. Majesco has decided to shut down its development studio. That means at the end of this month I will no longer have my full-time day job.

I was very fortunate to have been hired at the studio last year a couple months before graduating from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and after my Nickelodeon internship (I took my last class online while working full-time). Over the last year and a half, I have drawn and painted up a storm, and have been really pushed to create, create, create! I couldn’t have asked for more, I feel like my skills have improved x 42!

We were able to produce two Nintendo DS products: “Wonder World Amusement Park”, and one I don’t think I can name yet (we are in the pre-submission phase for this game, and it will be published by this fall). While they hired me as a concept artist, I created much of the in-game artwork for these projects - the characters and story-related screens, etc.

This past spring, we had started work on our first Nintendo Wii game, for which they applied my conceptual skills more thoroughly. We spent about five months on the project before the bad news hit. As far as I know, the Wii game is thusly cancelled.

Majesco Studios Los Angeles was established in November 2007 to serve as an internal studio for the publisher.
