Trademark roundup: August 4-5

Double Fine Productions has filed a trademark registration for Costume Quest. Of their four projects, I would speculate this is Brad Muir’s game (I’m operating under the hope that Tasha Harris’ project is the long-awaited sequel to Tasha’s Game).

LucasFilm has filed a trademark registration for Bounty Hunter that mentions a number of game-related things. A re-release of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter? Is that something being clamored for?

The E.W. Scripps Company filed a trademark registration for Scripps Spelling Bee vis-a-vis gaming. I’m down if Shaq is a playable character.

EA DICE filed a handful of Battlefield 3 trademark registrations – for clothing, for online games, for collectibles, and for physical games. I imagine a Battlefield 3 reveal is imminent.

Finally, PopCap filed gambling-related trademark registrations for Plants Vs. Zombies and Zuma. I think we can agree “Night of the Gambling Dead” is a good pun.
